Sight seeing in Morocco

Morocco has much to offer where places to visit and things to do are concerned. With the wide diversity in terms of geographical terrain, there is much to experience in terms of the natural beauty of the place. Whether you are looking for adventure or want to simply absorb the unique culture of Morocco, each town and city of Morocco has something different to offer. What makes the country so different is the fact that despite being in Africa, the country does not seem African at all. This is because of the Mediterranean influences of the Spanish and French speaking population. At the same time, Morocco represents a blend of Muslim practices, French and Catholic lifestyles, along with a Spanish speaking population in the north. Sight seeing in Morocco offers you much scope, depending on the duration of your visit, while you can plan several treks to the Atlas mountains, and especially Jebel Toukbal, the highest mountain in Atlas, you can also opt for experiencing the breathtaking experience of the Sahara deserts to the Grand Erg Occidental. You can play with the duration of these trips, though it is advisable to get a professional guide to accompany you for the longer journeys.
While the natural beauty of Morocco offers much variation in terms of sight seeing in Morocco, it is a must to visit the imperial cities of this country, the latter including cities such as Rabat, Fes, Marrakesh and Meknes. Each offers to its visitors a rich cultural heritage, with the origin of some of the cities dating back to the 11th century. These cities were the capital of Morocco, some time in its past, with Rabat being the current capital of the country.
However, with little bit of research, it is possible to tour the country on your own as well. Thus, you could walk through the charming and most cosmopolitan city of Tangier, the latter having many popular tourist attractions including Grand Socco, Petit Socco, Harbour, Mendoubia Gardens, the Forbes Museum, the Kasbah, Sidi Bounabib Mosque, Merinid College and the Moulay Ismail Mosque, among others. Or you could visit Marrakesh, the pink city of Morocco, known for its unique festive spirit during the night. Besides the market place of this city, some of the other must see attractions include Djemaa el-Fna, Ben Youssef Medersa, Nôtre Dame, Bahia Palace, Dar Sisaid Museum, Saadian Tombs, Menara and Aquedal gardens, Al Bedi Palace and Palmeraie, among others.

Casablanca offers to its visitors much scope for sight seeing in Morocco. A relatively young city in the country, Casablanca is the second largest town in Morocco, while it is one of the biggest ports of Africa. The coastal region of Morocco has much scope for sightseeing, with its lovely beaches, bays and cliffs, among others. But while you are touring the country, you must include some of the top tourist attractions in Morocco, including Chefchaouen, Erfoud, Fez, Meknes, Marrakesh, Ouarzazate, Rabat, Sale, Tafraoute, Tinerhir, Skoura, Tangier, Valley of the Draa and Valley of the Ziz, among others.
