Located in the Southern hemisphere of the world, Africa is the second largest continent in terms of size and human population. The geographical area of Africa covers around six percent of the total surface area of the earth and it is the home to over 9,00,000,000 people. The geographical location of Africa is unique. The continent is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea in the North, by the Red Sea and Suez Canal in the Northeast and to its West lies the Atlantic Ocean.

The geographical area of Africa comprises 46 countries and seven island groups including Madagascar. The entire territory of the continent has been divided into five regions named Eastern Africa, Western Africa, Northern Africa, Southern Africa and Middle Africa. However all the regions are very well connected with each other, thanks to the airports of Africa. The Southern part is the most well developed in the continent and the airports in the South African cities have got a very strong infrastructure and are equipped with modern facilities.

Like all other cities and countries in the world, the airports of Africa too play a very important role in the transportation service and trading operation of the countries but apart from that they also contribute largely in their tourism industry.
